Tryouts & Team Assignments

Spring is on its way, and with it comes tennis season. Buist will once again participate in the Tri-County Elementary and Middle League tennis season.
Teams will be organized based on ability and grade levels. In order to tryout for the Buist Team, you must have previous match play experience. This experience should include: competition against other players your age, “overhead” serving from the base line, and keeping track of your own scoring.
The team coaches will schedule practice. It is usually just one day a week, often on Sunday afternoon at the Charleston Tennis Center. For those of you that are just beginning, or may have not played in a while, you may want to take some lessons at one of the many facilities in addition to our weekly practice.
Match play will start around the second week of March. The regular season last six weeks, with a play-off tournament after that. The entire season is usually finished by the second week of May.
If you can’t make it to one of the try-outs, but would still like to play, you must contact me by Sunday, Feb. 7, we will be unable to add players after this date. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact me.
